Ok, raise your hand if you knew there was an awesome park under the western edge Woodrow Wilson Bridge. If you’re from Alexandria, you don’t count… Anyone else?
Maybe it’s just me, but I was surprised when Gayle told me about this spot. As part of the George Washington Memorial Parkway, Jones Point Park is a fantastic area for photos, but it’s also great for the history buffs among us that will appreciate the fact that it used to be a WWI shipyard (see below photo, circa 1919 from the Library of Congress) and there are several historical markers in the area. It’s hard for me to imagine Old Town as a bustling shipyard…

But I digress. Back to the photos.

Some fun with a remote flash!

Erich and Gayle – thanks for introducing me to the area! I’m really looking forward to next spring!
